Friends in Crime
In the past few months, things have changed. I no longer receive visits as I used to, and no one seems to be picking up my calls either.
The announcement came like a thief in the night and forced my tears to cease from flowing. The truth does not lie on the face of the innocent but in the mouth of the judge.
A careless act of kindness caused me to lose everything I have worked hard to build. I wanted to belong, so I leaped without looking further. And now, I am alone and broken in this hell with bars. That’s the price I must now pay.
If I could turn back the hands of time, I would have first looked out for myself before others. Such is life!
